تلقى جلالة الملك عبدالله الثاني، اليوم الثلاثاء، اتصالا هاتفيا من رئيس جمهورية غامبيا أداما بارو، الذي تترأس بلاده الدورة الخامسة عشرة لمؤتمر منظمة التعاون الإسلامي.

وتم بحث تداعيات التصعيد في المنطقة والاعتداءات الإيرانية على الأردن وعدد من دول المنطقة، إذ أكد جلالته أهمية تكثيف الجهود لتحقيق التهدئة عبر الحوار واستخدام القنوات الدبلوماسية، محذرا من استغلال التطورات الحالية كذريعة لانتهاك حرية المصلين بالوصول إلى المسجد الأقصى المبارك/الحرم القدسي الشريف، وتغيير الوضع القائم في الضفة الغربية وغزة.

بدوره، أكد الرئيس الغامبي ضرورة ضبط النفس واحترام القانون الدولي وحماية المدنيين في الشرق الأوسط.
