قال متحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الألمانية، إن ألمانيا سحبت مؤقتا موظفي سفارتها في بغداد من العراق بسبب تزايد المخاطر الأمنية في ظل الصراع الدائر في الشرق الأوسط.

وأضاف المتحدث في وقت متأخر من أمس الاثنين "تم نقل موظفي السفارة الألمانية في بغداد مؤقتا من العراق بسبب حالة التهديد"، مضيفا أن سلامة الموظفين تخضع لتقييم مستمر.

وأفاد بأنه لا يزال بالإمكان الاتصال بالسفارة، على الرغم من أن خدماتها القانونية والقنصلية كانت محدودة للغاية منذ بعض الوقت بسبب الوضع الأمني.

وقال وزير الخارجية يوهان واديفول في نيقوسيا بقبرص أمس إنه ناقش الوضع الإقليمي مع نظيره الأمريكي ماركو روبيو.

وندد كلاهما بما وصفه واديفول "بالهجمات العشوائية" الإيرانية على دول المنطقة، وحثا طهران على وقفها.
