قالت كايا كالاس، مسؤولة الشؤون الخارجية في الاتحاد الأوروبي، الأربعاء، إن الحكومة الإيرانية تبرر زوالها بشن هجمات عشوائية على جيرانها.

وأضافت للصحفيين: "تكمن استراتيجية إيران في زرع الفوضى وإثارة الفتنة في المنطقة".

وفي وقت سابق، قالت كالاس، في منشور على منصة "إكس"، إن "الهجمات العشوائية التي يشنها النظام الإيراني على جيرانه تنطوي على مخاطر جر المنطقة إلى حرب أوسع نطاقا".

وشددت على أنه "من الضروري ألا يتوسع نطاق الحرب أكثر من ذلك"، معتبرة أن "هناك قرارات يتعين على النظام الإيراني اتخاذها".
