قال وزير الخارجية العُماني بدر البوسعيدي الجمعة إن إيران وافقت في محادثاتها مع الولايات المتحدة على عدم الاحتفاظ مطلقا بمخزون من اليورانيوم المخصّب، واصفا ذلك بأنه اختراق يأمل بأن يحول دون اندلاع حرب.

وأضاف البوسعيدي في مقابلة مع برنامج "فايس ذي نيشن" على شبكة "سي بي إس" أن "هذا أمر جديد تماما. إنه يجعل الجدل حول التخصيب أقل أهمية، لأننا نتحدث الآن عن صفر تخزين".

وتتهم إدارة ترامب طهران بالسعي إلى امتلاك سلاح نووي. غير أن البوسعيدي قال للشبكة الأميركية "إذا لم يكن بإمكانك تخزين مواد مخصّبة، فلن تكون هناك وسيلة فعليا لصنع قنبلة".
