أعلنت وزارة الطوارئ الروسية، اليوم الجمعة، عن أن زلزالا قويا بلغت شدته 5.7 درجات على مقياس ريختر ضرب سواحل شبه جزيرة "كامتشاتكا" شرق البلاد، فيما لم تسجل لغاية اللحظة أي خسائر.

وقالت الطوارئ الروسية في بيان صحفي: "مركز الزلزال كان على بعد 176 كيلومترا جنوب شرق مدينة فيليوتشينسك، وعلى عمق 10 كيلومترات ولم ترد حتى الآن تقارير فورية عن طبيعة الخسائر أو الأضرار، مركز التحذير من تسونامي نبه إلى احتمال تشكل أمواج بحرية قد تصل إلى متر واحد على بعض السواحل الروسية القريبة من مركز الزلزال".
