دعا روبرت غارسيا، وهو أبرز الأعضاء الديموقراطيين في لجنة مجلس النواب الأميركي التي تحقق في قضية المتموّل المدان بجرائم جنسية جيفري إبستين، الخميس الى مثول الرئيس دونالد ترامب أمامها.

وقال غارسيا "لنُحضر الرئيس ترامب ليمثل أمام لجنتنا ويجيب على الأسئلة"، متهما إدارة الرئيس الجمهوري ووزارة العدل بإخفاء معطيات في هذه القضية، وذلك في تصريحات قبل مثول وزيرة الخارجية الأميركية السابقة الديموقراطية هيلاري كلينتون أمام اللجنة في وقت لاحق الخميس، وعشية مثول زوجها الرئيس السابق بيل كلينتون.
