أعلنت السلطات التركية، اليوم الأربعاء، سقوط مقاتلة حربية من طراز "F-16" في ولاية باليكيسير شمالي غربي البلاد، ومقتل الطيّار.

وقالت وزارة الدفاع التركية في بيان: "إنّ الاتصال اللاسلكي ومعلومات التتبع لإحدى طائراتها من طراز "إف-16" التي أقلعت من قاعدة باليكسير الجوية التاسعة، انقطعت في تمام الساعة 00:56".

وأضاف بيان الوزارة: "نتيجة لعمليات البحث والإنقاذ التي بدأت على الفور، تبين أنّ الطائرة تحطمت وتمّ الوصول إلى حطامها وقد استشهد طيارنا".

وأشار البيان إلى أنّه "سيتم تحديد سبب الحادث من خلال التحقيقات التي سيجريها فريق البحث".
