أثارت قصة القرد الصغير "بانش" تعاطفًا واسعًا في اليابان والعالم، بعدما وثقت مقاطع فيديو معاناته في أشهره الأولى داخل قفص حديقة الحيوانات، بعد تخلي أمه عنه وفشله في التآلف مع بقية القرود.

وقال حراس الحديقة إن بانش تعرض لعزلة واعتداءات متكررة من القرود الأخرى، فقرروا توفير دمية محشوة على شكل قرد تمنحه شعورًا بالأمان، وأصبح يصطحبها معه في كل مكان، ما جذب انتباه وسائل الإعلام والجمهور.

سرعان ما تحول بانش إلى مقصد للزوار في اليابان، حيث اصطف المئات لرؤيته، وأصبح رمزًا لمعاناة الحيوانات الصغيرة في بيئات غير طبيعية.

ورصدت التفاعلات حول قصته على منصات التواصل، بين تعاطف إنساني واسع ورؤى ترى أن ما حدث سلوك طبيعي في عالم الحيوانات.
