خلصت المحكمة العليا الأميركية الجمعة إلى أن الرئيس دونالد ترامب تجاوز صلاحياته بفرضه مجموعة من الرسوم الجمركية التي تسببت باضطراب التجارة العالمية، لتعرقل بذلك أداة رئيسية استخدمها لفرض أجندته الاقتصادية.

وصدر الحكم عن المحكمة ذات الأغلبية المحافظة بستة مقابل ثلاثة أصوات وجاء فيه أن قانون السلطات الاقتصادية الطارئة "لا يعطي الرئيس سلطة فرض الرسوم الجمركية".

وقضت المحكمة بإلغاء جزء كبير من الرسوم الجمركية الواسعة التي تبناها الرئيس دونالد ترامب.
