التقت جلالة الملكة رانيا العبدالله اليوم في قصر الحسينية بعمان إلكه بودنبندر زوجة الرئيس الألماني فرانك فالتر شتاينماير، وذلك في إطار زيارة عمل يقوم بها الرئيس الألماني وعقيلته إلى المملكة.

وتناول اللقاء بحث عدد من القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك، لاسيما في الجوانب الإنسانية والاجتماعية إضافة إلى سبل تعزيز التعاون في المجالات الداعمة للطفولة والأسرة.

وإلكه بودنبندر هي راعية منظمة يونيسف ألمانيا. فيما منحت منظمة اليونيسف العالمية الملكة رانيا في عام 2007 لقب أول "مناصرة بارزة للأطفال.
