يترأس جلالة الملك عبدﷲ الثاني، الثلاثاء، جولة جديدة من مبادرة "اجتماعات العقبة" والتي تستضيفها المملكة المتحدة.

وتهدف "اجتماعات العقبة"، التي أطلقها جلالة الملك عبدالله الثاني في 2015، إلى تعزيز التنسيق والتعاون الأمني والعسكري وتبادل الخبرات والمعلومات بين مختلف الأطراف الإقليمية والدولية لمحاربة الإرهاب وفق نهج شمولي.

ويزور جلالة الملك لندن يرافقه سمو الأمير الحسين بن عبدﷲ الثاني ولي العهد.

والتقى جلالته وولي العهد الاثنين، رئيس الوزراء البريطاني السير كير ستارمر في لندن.

وخلال الزيارة بحث جلالته مع رئيس أركان الدفاع البريطاني الفريق أول جوي السير ريتشارد نايتون، سبل تعزيز الشراكة بين الأردن وبريطانيا في المجالات الدفاعية.
