قال مدير برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي، ألكسندر دي كرو، إن "حجم الدمار في قطاع غزة يفوق الخيال والخسائر البشرية هائلة".

وأضاف كرو، في منشور على منصة (اكس)، اليوم الاثنين، بأنه قضى "يوما عصيبا ومؤثرا غي غزة"، خلال زيارته الحالية للقطاع.

ودعا إلى السماح بتوسيع نطاق وصول الوكالات الأممية إلى القطاع من أجل تعزيز جهود إزالة الركام والنفايات، وتوفير مساكن الإيواء والمعدات الطبية وإجلاء المرضى.

وأوضح المكتب الإعلامي للأمم المتحدة أن تصريحات دي كرو جاءت خلال زيارته لمنطقة سوق فراس وسط مدينة غزة، التي تحولت إلى مكب هائل للنفايات في ظل تعطل الخدمات الأساسية خلال الحرب، مشيرا إلى أن إزالة كل الأنقاض ستستغرق 7 سنوات إذا استمر العمل بالوتيرة الحالية.
