إنديانا: الحمض النووي يكشف قاتل بعد 30 عامًا

بعد أكثر من 30 عامًا من الغموض، تمكنت الشرطة في إنديانا من كشف قاتل واغتصاب الشابة كارمن فان هوس عام 1993 باستخدام تقنيات الحمض النووي.

واعترف دانـا شيبرد، البالغ 53 عامًا، بقتل كارمن بعد طعنها 61 مرة في شقتها، ليحكم عليه بالسجن 45 عامًا. وكان شيبرد يبلغ من العمر 20 عامًا وقت الحادث، وعاش حياة طبيعية لعقود رغم سجله الجنائي السابق.

وقالت عائلة الضحية إنها تشعر بمزيج من الحزن والارتياح، معتبرة أن العدالة تحققت أخيرًا بعد ثلاثة عقود من الانتظار.
