تعهّد وزير الطاقة الأميركي كريس رايت الأربعاء الدفع نحو "زيادة كبيرة" في الإنتاج النفطي لفنزويلا، وذلك عقب محادثات مع الرئيسة الفنزويلية بالوكالة ديلسي رودريغيز التي أعربت عن تطلّعها إلى "شراكة مثمرة على المدى الطويل" مع واشنطن.

وقال رايت إن طفرة في إنتاج فنزويلا من النفط والغاز الطبيعي والكهرباء من شأنها أن تُحسّن جودة حياة "كل الفنزويليين في كل أنحاء البلاد"، وأضاف إن الرئيس دونالد ترامب ملتزم جعل "الأميركيتين عظيمتين مجددا".
