30 قتيلا على الأقل بحادث مروري في نيجيريا

أسفر حادث مروري الأحد في ولاية كانو بشمال نيجيريا عن مقتل 30 شخصا، بحسب ما أفادت السلطات المحلية.

وقال متحدث باسم حكومة الولاية في بيان إنّ "هذا الحادث المميت وقع بين شاحنة نصف مقطورة... اصطدمت بمركبة بسبب القيادة المتهورة، ما تسبب في مقتل أكثر من 30 شخصا وإصابة العديد من الأشخاص الآخرين بجروح خطيرة".

ووقع الحادث صباح الأحد على طريق يؤدي إلى مدينة غوجونغو الواقعة في ولاية جيغاوا المجاورة لكانو.

وتكثر حوادث المرور في نيجيريا، حيث تعاني الطرق من قلة الصيانة ونادرا ما يتم احترام قوانين السير.

وفي العام 2023، سجّلت هيئة السلامة المروية 9750 حادثا في عموم البلاد، تسببت بمقتل 5421 شخصا.

وطلب حاكم ولاية كانو أبا كبير يوسف من المستشفيات علاج المصابين مجانا، واتخاذ تدابير لدعم أسر الضحايا.
