بدأت المجموعة الأولى من الجرحى والمرضى الخارجين من غزة الوصول إلى الجانب المصري من معبر رفح الحدودي مع القطاع الفلسطيني، الاثنين، بحسب ما أفاد مسؤول طبي مصري.

وقال المسؤول إن الدفعة الأولى من المصابين الفلسطينيين والمرضى بدأت بالوصول إلى المعبر داخل سيارات إسعاف مصرية، مع عدد من المرافقين.

وأضاف: "وصلت ثلاث سيارات إسعاف تحمل عددا من المرضى والمصابين وتم فحصهم فور وصولهم... لتحديد المستشفى الذي سينُقلون إليه".

وكان رئيس اللجنة الوطنية لإدارة غزة، علي شعث أعلن، الاثنين، عن فتح معبر رفح وبدء التشغيل التجريبي له في الاتجاهين، معتبرا ذلك "محطة مهمة" ضمن الجهود الرامية لتنظيم حركة التنقل والتخفيف من الأعباء الإنسانية عن أهالي قطاع غزة.
