اختتمت اليوم الأحد، فعاليات التمرين العسكري المشترك "بستان الزيتون"، الذي نفذته كتيبة خالد بن الوليد/15، إحدى وحدات لواء الملك حسين بن علي، بالتعاون مع الجانب البريطاني، في أحد ميادين التدريب المخصصة بحضور قائد اللواء ومساعد قائد القوات المسلحة البريطانية في قبرص.

وتضمن التمرين تنفيذ تطبيقات ميدانية تحاكي القتال في المناطق المبنية، شملت استخدام مختلف أنواع الأسلحة، والتعامل مع النقاط الحصينة والخنادق الدفاعية، وفق سيناريوهات عملياتية محددة.

ويأتي تنفيذ التمرين، الذي استمر أربعة أسابيع، في إطار البرامج التدريبية المشتركة التي تنفذها القوات المسلحة الأردنية، بهدف رفع الجاهزية العملياتية وتعزيز القدرات القتالية وتبادل الخبرات العسكرية مع الدول الشقيقة والصديقة.
