من المقرر أن يوقع الأردن وسوريا في العاصمة دمشق، الاثنين، اتفاقية بشأن الغاز.

وستوقع الاتفاقية بحضور وزير الطاقة والثروة المعدنية، صالح الخرابشة، ونظيره السوري، محمد البشير.

وكانت وزارة الطاقة السورية قد أعلنت في وقت سابق عن بدء استلام الغاز الطبيعي لتوليد الكهرباء في سوريا، في إطار اتفاقية شراء الغاز عبر الأردن، بكمية تصل إلى 4 ملايين متر مكعب يوميًا.

وقالت الطاقة السورية إن الاتفاقية تأتي ضمن عقد شراء غاز بتكلفة سنوية تقدر بحوالي 800 مليون دولار، في إطار توجه حكومي لتأمين مصادر طاقة مستقرة ومستدامة، وتحسين الخدمة المقدمة للمواطنين.
