يعقد سفراء الدول الأعضاء في الاتحاد الأوروبي، وعددها 27 دولة، اجتماعًا طارئًا اليوم الأحد، على خلفية إعلان الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب عزمه رفع الرسوم الجمركية على حلفاء واشنطن الأوروبيين.

وأفادت قبرص، التي تتولى الرئاسة الدورية للاتحاد الأوروبي، بأنها دعت إلى عقد الاجتماع في وقت متأخر من مساء السبت، وفق ما نقلته وكالة "رويترز".

وأوضح دبلوماسيون أوروبيون، أن "الاجتماع من المقرر أن يبدأ عند الساعة الخامسة مساءً بالتوقيت المحلي (الرابعة بتوقيت غرينتش)"، في خطوة تم ربطها بالسماح للولايات المتحدة بشراء جزيرة غرينلاند التابعة للدنمارك.
