أكدت رئيسة فنزويلا المؤقتة ديلسي رودريغيز الخميس في خطابها أمام البرلمان، أن بلادها لا تخشى "مواجهة الولايات المتحدة دبلوماسيا"، وذلك بعد أقل من أسبوعين من اعتقال الرئيس نيكولاس مادورو بعملية عسكرية أميركية في كراكاس.

وقالت رودريغيز في خطابها بشأن حال الأمة "نحن نعرف أن الولايات المتحدة قوية جدا. نحن لسنا خائفين من أن نواجهها دبلوماسيا، عبر الحوار السياسي"، ما أثار موجة تصفيق حار في البرلمان.
