تحذير أممي من نفاد المساعدات الغذائية في السودان خلال شهرين

حذر برنامج الأغذية العالمي التابع للأمم المتحدة الخميس من نفاد المساعدات الغذائية في السودان في غضون شهرين بسبب نقص التمويل.

وأكد البرنامج في بيان صحفي، أنه بالفعل تم "تقليص الحصص الغذائية إلى الحد الأدنى الكافي للبقاء على قيد الحياة" ولكن "بحلول نهاية آذار سنكون استنفدنا مخزوننا الغذائي في السودان".

وأضاف البيان، أنه في غياب تمويل إضافي فوري "سيُحرم ملايين الأشخاص من المساعدات الغذائية الحيوية في غضون أسابيع"، مؤكدًا حاجة البرنامج لـ700 مليون دولار أميركي لاستكمال أنشطته في السودان حتى حزيران المقبل.

ووفقًا لبرنامج الأغذية، يعاني 21 مليونًا في أنحاء السودان من الجوع الشديد.
