دعت وزارة الخارجية الأميركية، المواطنين الأميركيين إلى مغادرة "إيران الآن"، والنظر في المغادرة برا إلى تركيا أو أرمينيا إذا كان ذلك آمنا.

وكان ترامب شجّع المتظاهرين الإيرانيين على مواصلة حراكهم حتى إسقاط السلطات، واعدا عبر شبكته تروث سوشال بأن "المساعدة في طريقها" إليهم من دون مزيد من التفاصيل.

وكتب الرئيس الأميركي: "أيها الوطنيون الإيرانيون، استمروا في التظاهر - سيطروا على مؤسساتكم"، مضيفا: "لقد ألغيت كل الاجتماعات مع مسؤولين إيرانيين إلى أن يتوقف القتل العبثي للمتظاهرين".
