جرينلاند تطالب حلف الأطلسي بالدفاع عنها

قالت حكومة جرينلاند الاثنين إنها ستزيد من جهودها لضمان الدفاع عن الجزيرة الواقعة في القطب الشمالي تحت رعاية حلف شمال الأطلسي، ورفضت مرة أخرى طموح الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب في الاستيلاء عليها.

وكان ترامب قد تحدث عن ضرورة امتلاك الولايات المتحدة لجرينلاند، وهي منطقة تحظى بحكم ذاتي في إطار مملكة الدنمرك، لمنع روسيا أو الصين من احتلال الإقليم ذي الموقع الاستراتيجي والغني بالمعادن في المستقبل.

وقالت الحكومة الائتلافية في الجزيرة في بيان "جميع الدول الأعضاء في حلف شمال الأطلسي، ومنها الولايات المتحدة، لديها مصلحة مشتركة في الدفاع عن جرينلاند".

وكان مفوض الاتحاد الأوروبي لشؤون الدفاع والفضاء أندريوس كوبيليوس قد حذر اليوم من أن استيلاء الولايات المتحدة على جرينلاند سيكون نهاية حلف الأطلسي. (رويترز)
