ثأر المنتخب المغربي، الساعي الى لقبه الثاني في تاريخه بعد الأول عام 1976، من نظيره الكاميروني بعد 38 عاما وبلغ نصف نهائي كأس الأمم الإفريقية لكرة القدم في المملكة عندما تغلب عليه 2-0 الجمعة على ملعب الأمير مولاي عبدالله في الرباط وأمام 64178 متفرجا.

وسجل ابراهيم دياس (26) واسماعيل الصيباري (74) هدفي المغرب الذي رد الاعتبار لخروجه على يد الأسود غير المروضة من نصف نهائي نسخة 1988 في المملكة، وضرب موعدا في نصف النهائي الأربعاء المقبل على الملعب ذاته مع الجزائر او نيجيريا اللتين تلتقيان السبت على الملعب الكبير في مراكش.
