جرى التوقيع اليوم على بيانٍ مشتركٍ لإقامة علاقات دبلوماسية بين المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية وجمهورية لاو الديمقراطية الشعبية يهدف إلى تعزيز علاقات الصداقة والتعاون بين البلدين، ومأسسة التعاون المشترك في العديد من المجالات، لا سيّما السياسية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية والعلمية، وبما يخدم مصالح البلدين الصديقين.

‏ووقّع البيان نيابةً عن حكومتَي البلدين المندوبُ الدائم للمملكة الأردنية الهاشمية لدى الأمم المتحدة في نيويورك السفير وليد خالد عبيدات، والمندوب الدائم لجمهوريه لاو الديمقراطية الشعبية السفير ثونغفان سافانفيت، وذلك في مقر البعثة الأردنية الدائمة لدى الأمم المتحدة في نيويورك.
