أعلن وزير الدفاع الفنزويلي الجنرال فلاديمير بادرينو لويز الأحد اعتراف الجيش بنائبة الرئيس ديلسي رودريغيز رئيسة موقتة للبلاد، غداة اعتقال قوات أميركية خاصة الرئيس نيكولاس مادورو.

وأشار وزير الدفاع خلال تلاوته بيانا إلى قرار أصدرته المحكمة العليا ليل السبت، يأمر رودريغيز بتولي السلطة لمدة 90 يوما. وطالب بإطلاق سراح مادورو، منددا بقتل بعض من أفراد حراسته "بدم بارد".
