أمرت المحكمة العليا في فنزويلا، نائبة الرئيس ديلسي رودريغيز، بتولي الرئاسة مؤقتا عقب اعتقال الولايات المتحدة الرئيس نيكولاس مادورو.

وقالت الدائرة الدستورية في المحكمة إن "رودريغيز تتولى، بصفتها الطرف المسؤول، جميع المسؤوليات والواجبات والصلاحيات المنوطة بمنصب رئيسة جمهورية فنزويلا البوليفارية بهدف ضمان استمرارية الإدارة والدفاع الشامل عن الوطن".

ولم يُعلن القضاة حاليا مادورو غائبا بشكل نهائي، ما كان سيؤدي إلى انتخابات مبكرة خلال 30 يوما.
