قال خفر السواحل الأميركي الجمعة إنه علق عملية البحث عن أشخاص في المياه في أعقاب الغارة التي شنها الجيش الأميركي في الأسبوع الماضي على قافلة سفن يشتبه بأنها سفن مخدرات في المحيط الهادي.

وقال في بيان "نسق خفر السواحل الأميركي أكثر من 65 ساعة من جهود البحث، غطت أكثر من 1090 ميلا بحريا في ظل ظروف رؤية مواتية، دون مشاهدة ناجين أو حطام".

وقالت القيادة الجنوبية للجيش الأميركي الأربعاء إن خمسة أشخاص قُتلوا في غارة شُنت على سفينتين، وهو ما تم تعديله من إحصاء سابق لثلاثة أشخاص، لكنها لم تشر إلى الموقع.
