بدأت عملية الإفاضة في سد وادي شعيب إثر المنخفض الجوي الذي يؤثر على الأردن وامتلائه بمياه الأمطار.

وقال مدير سدي الكفرين ووادي شعيب، تيسير الحبيس، إنه خلال الساعتين الماضيتين تم رفد السد بـ700 ألف متر مكعب، مبينا أن التدفق اللحظي بلغ 45 مترا مكعبا في الثانية.

وأضاف الحبيس أن السعة التخزينية الكاملة للسد تبلغ 1.5 مليون متر مكعب، مشيرا إلى أنه سيتم تخزين ربع مليون متر مكعب من مياه الإفاضة في قناة الغور الشرقية.

وأشار إلى أن السعة التخزينية لسد الكفرين وصلت حاليا إلى نحو 4.5 مليون متر مكعب من سعته التخزينية الكاملة (8.5 مليون متر مكعب).

وكانت سلطة وادي الأردنقد دعت المواطنين والمزارعين والقاطنين في المناطق الواقعة أسفل السد إلى ضرورة اتخاذ الاحتياطات اللازمة والالتزام بتعليمات الجهات المختصة.
