أعلن الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب، أنّه أجرى مكالمة هاتفية مثمرة مع نظيره الروسي فلاديمير بوتين الأحد، قبل لقائه المقرّر مع الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي في فلوريدا.

وقال ترامب في منشور على منصته "تروث سوشال" "أجريت للتو مكالمة هاتفية جيدة جدا ومثمرة مع الرئيس الروسي بوتين" قبل المحادثات المخطط إجراؤها مع زيلينسكي في مقر إقامة ترامب في فلوريدا عند الساعة الواحدة بعد الظهر بالتوقيت المحلي (السادسة مساء بتوقيت غرينتش).
