قال مفوّض شؤون السياحة والشباب في سلطة منطقة العقبة الاقتصادية الخاصة، ثابت النابلسي، إن عدد زوّار العقبة خلال عطلة نهاية الأسبوع والعيد المجيد بلغ نحو 15 ألفًا.

وأضاف النابلسي، الجمعة، أن وفودًا سياحية وعائلات وصلت إلى العقبة عبر المعابر البرية والجوية، من مختلف الجنسيات، إضافة إلى السياح المحليين.

وكشف عن حركة تجارية نشطة من خلال التسوّق وسياحة اليوم الواحد.

وأكد أن السلطة أطلقت حملة "روحها بتردّ الروح"، التي تهدف إلى تنشيط السياحة في العقبة.

وبلغت نسب إشغال فنادق الثلاث والأربع والخمس نجوم ما بين 85% و90% خلال عطلة نهاية الأسبوع، وفق النابلسي، مشيرًا إلى أن نسب الإشغال خلال أيام الأسبوع الأخرى ما تزال متوسطة ولا تحقق الإشغال الكامل.
