استهل منتخب تونس مشواره في بطولة امم افريقيا بالفوز على اوغندا بثلاثة اهداف مقابل هدف ضمن مباريات الجولة الاولى من دور المجموعات لبطولة امم افريقيا المقامة في المغرب.

نسور قرطاج قدموا مواجهة قوية، ونجح الياس سخيري بعد عشر دقائق فقط في منح تونس التقدم وعزز زميله الياس عاشوري النتيجة قبل خمس دقائق فقط قبل نهاية الشوط الاول.

الشوط الثاني شهد سيطرة تونسية ايضاً وعاد عاشوري ويضيف الثالث منتصف الشوط وقبل نهاية المباراة بلحظات فقط سجل منتخب اوغندا هدفه الوحيد، وحسمت تونس بذلك اول ثلاث نقاط في المجموعة التي تضم ايضا نيجيريا وتنزانيا.
