رحّبت وزارة الخارجية وشؤون المغتربين بقرار الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة اعتماد تعيين برهم صالح مفوّضًا ساميًا للأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين، متمنيةً له التوفيق في مهامه.

وأكّد الناطق الرسمي باسم الوزارة السفير فؤاد المجالي دعم المملكة الكامل لعمل المفوّضية السامية للأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين، والدور الهام الذي تضطلع به في حماية حقوق اللاجئين، مشدّدًا على أهمية مواصلة التعاون والتنسيق معها من أجل ضمان الدعم اللازم لتوفير الحياة الكريمة للاجئين، ومساعدة الدول المستضيفة على تحمّل أعباء اللجوء.

كما أعرب المجالي عن تقدير المملكة للجهود التي بذلها المفوّض السامي السابق فيليبو غراندي خلال فترة ولايته.
