علق الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب، الخميس، برنامج قرعة "غرين كارد" الذي سمح للمشتبه به في حادثي إطلاق النار بجامعة براون ومعهد ماساتشوستس للتكنولوجيا بدخول الولايات المتحدة.

وقالت وزيرة الأمن الداخلي كريستي نويم في منشور على منصة التواصل الاجتماعي إكس إنها بناء على توجيهات ترامب تأمر خدمات المواطنة والهجرة الأميركية بوقف البرنامج مؤقتا.

وتابعت نويم في منشور على منصة إكس: "ما كان ينبغي أبدا السماح لهذا الفرد الشنيع بدخول بلادنا".

ويوفر برنامج تأشيرة التنوع ما يصل إلى 50 ألف غرين كارد كل عام عن طريق القرعة لأشخاص من دول تمثيلها ضئيل في الولايات المتحدة، وكثير منها في إفريقيا.
