توصل ممثلو الدول الأعضاء في الاتحاد الأوروبي والبرلمان الأوروبي، اليوم الخميس، إلى اتفاق بشأن قواعد جديدة تسمح للدول الأعضاء بترحيل طالبي اللجوء إلى "دول ثالثة آمنة".

وبحسب وكالة يورونيوز الأوروبية، سيسمح الاتفاق للدول الأعضاء بإرسال طالبي اللجوء إلى دولة خارج الاتحاد الأوروبي تعتبر دولة آمنة، حتى لو لم تكن لمقدم الطلب صلة سابقة بها، وذلك في الحالات التي يوجد فيها، على سبيل المثال، اتفاق أو ترتيب قائم بين تلك الدولة الثالثة والدولة العضو في الاتحاد.

ويحتاج الاتفاق إلى اعتماده رسميًا قبل أن يدخل حيز التنفيذ.
