قدّم الرئيس السوري أحمد الشرع تعازيه لنظيره الأميركي دونالد ترامب الأحد، غداة هجوم أسفر عن مقتل ثلاثة أميركيين بينهم جنديان في تدمر وسط سوريا.

وأفادت الرئاسة السورية في بيان بأن الشرع بعث "برقية تعزية إلى السيد رئيس الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية دونالد ترامب، في مقتل الجنود الأمريكيين في ريف حمص، مؤكّدا تضامن الجمهورية العربية السورية مع عائلات الضحايا".

وأضافت أن الشرع شدد "على إدانة سوريا لهذا الحادث المؤسف، وعلى التزامها بالحفاظ على الأمن والسلامة، وتعزيز الاستقرار في سوريا والمنطقة".
