أعلن وزير الثقافة مصطفى الرواشدة، الأربعاء، تحقيق إنجاز وطني يتمثل في إدراج شجرة زيتون المهراس على القائمة التمثيلية للتراث الثقافي غير المادي للبشرية لدى اليونسكو.

وجرى ترشيح الشجرة لما تحمله من قيمة تاريخية واقتصادية واجتماعية وثقافية، إذ تُعد أصلًا للسلالات الأخرى وتعكس بجذورها العميقة تاريخ المنطقة، كما تُستخدم في الصناعات التقليدية والطبية وتحيط بها طقوس وممارسات شعبية في مواسم القطاف، وفق الوزير.

وأكد الرواشدة أن "شجرة المهراس" تمثل جزءًا أصيلًا من التراث غير المادي للأردن، لارتباطها بالمهرجانات والأغاني الشعبية وبحياة الإنسان الأردني اليومية، مقدمًا الشكر للمؤسسات والخبراء الذين أسهموا في إنجاح الترشيح.
