تشهد محافظة العقبة في هذه الأثناء، هطولات مطرية غزيرة، ما أدى إلى ارتفاع منسوب المياه في بعض الطرق الرئيسية والفرعية، وفق ما أكده مدير الأشغال والهندسة في سلطة منطقة العقبة المهندس شادي السحيمات

وأوضح السحيمات لـ"الرأي" أن الجهات المعنية تتابع الوضع عن كثب، وأنه حتى اللحظة لم يتم تسجيل أي أضرار أو إغلاقات للطرق، وأن فرق الطوارئ في حالة تأهب كامل للتعامل مع أي طارئ.

وناشد السحيمات المواطنين الالتزام بالمنازل، خصوصًا الأطفال، حفاظًا على سلامتهم، مؤكدًا أن استمرار الهطولات متوقع بوتيرة متفاوتة خلال الليلة وحتى فجر يوم غد، داعيًا الجميع إلى توخي الحذر وعدم المخاطرة بالتحرك في الطرقات المغمورة بالمياه.
