حجز المنتخب السعودي رسميا مقعدا له في دور الثمانية لكأس العرب لكرة القدم 2025، مبكرا بعد فوزه على جزر القمر (3-1) في اللقاء الذي جمعهما يوم الجمعة، في الجولة الثانية للبطولة.

وأحرز لاعب خط الوسط السعودي محمد كنو هدفين متتاليين للأخضر في الدقيقتين (45، 51) بينما تكفل زميله سالم الدوسري بتسجيل الهدف الثالث بحلول الدقيقة 76.

أما هدف جزر القمر الوحيد فقد سجله اللاعب إبراهيم يوسف جودا عند الدقيقة 63 من عمر المباراة التي جرت على أرضية استاد البيت المونديالي في قطر.

ورفع منتخب السعودية رصيده بعد هذا الفوز إلى ست نقاط وانفرد بصدارة المجموعة الثانية، مبتعدا بفارق نقطتين عن المغرب صاحب المركز الثاني.

ويحتل منتخب عمان المركز الثالث في جدول الترتيب برصيد نقطة واحدة، بينما ودع منتخب جزر القمر البطولة رسميا بعد خسارته للمرة الثانية على التوالي.
