مُنح الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترمب جائزة الفيفا للسلام، اليوم الجمعة، وهي جائزة مستحدثة، وذلك خلال مراسم احتفالات قرعة نهائيات كأس العالم لكرة القدم 2026، التي تقام في الولايات المتحدة وكندا والمكسيك.

وقال ترمب في خطاب قبول الجائزة: "هذا حقا أحد أعظم التكريمات في حياتي"، وفق ما نقلت شبكة (سي إن إن) .

وأعلن الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (الفيفا) في تشرين الثاني أن هذا العام سيشهد إطلاق هذه الجائزة، وهي وسام سنوي جديد يُمنح لشخصية وصفتها الفيفا بأنها قامت بـ"أعمال استثنائية وغير عادية من أجل السلام، وبذلك وحدت شعوب العالم من خلالها".

ولم تتضح بعد كيفية اختيار الفائز.
