المستشفيات البريطانية تواجه موسم إنفلونزا غير مسبوق

أفادت هيئة الخدمات الصحية الوطنية البريطانية، بأن عدد المرضى المصابين بالإنفلونزا في المستشفيات وصل إلى أعلى مستوى له في هذا الوقت من العام، مع توقعات بموسم غير مسبوق للفيروس.

ووفقاً لهيئة بي بي سي، تُشير بيانات هيئة الصحة إلى وجود متوسط 1,700 مريض في المستشفيات الأسبوع الماضي، بزيادة تزيد عن 50% مقارنة بالعام الماضي، فيما تظهر المؤشرات الأولية استمرار ارتفاع حالات الدخول منذ ذلك الحين.

ويعود هذا التفشي المبكر إلى شهر قبل المعتاد، مع ظهور سلالة أشد من الفيروس.

وحذر كبير الأطباء في إنجلترا، السير كريس ويتي، من ضرورة التعامل بجدية أكبر مع الأمراض التنفسية، مثل الإنفلونزا والالتهاب الرئوي لدى كبار السن لتقليل الوفيات.
