تصدّر المنتخب الوطني لكرة القدم المجموعة الثالثة في كأس العرب لكرة القدم، بعد فوزه على نظيره الإماراتي 2-1 في الدوحة، في الجولة الأولى من دور المجموعات.

وسجل الهدف الأول اللاعب علي علون في الدقيقة 20 من مجريات الشوط الأول، وأدرك الإمارات التعادل في الدقيقي 47 من مجريات الشوط الثاني.
