اعتبرت السفارة الأميركية في لبنان الأربعاء أن انضمام ممثّلين مدنيين، لبناني وإسرائيلي للمرة الأولى إلى اجتماع لجنة مراقبة وقف إطلاق النار، "خطوة مهمة" تعكس الالتزام بتحقيق "الاستقرار والسلام الدائم".

وأوردت السفارة في بيان صدر عقب اجتماع اللجنة في الناقورة في جنوب لبنان "رحّبت جميع الأطراف بالمشاركة الإضافية باعتبارها خطوة مهمة نحو ضمان أن يكون عمل" لجنة وقف إطلاق النار "مرتكزا على حوار مدني مستدام بالإضافة الى الحوار العسكري"، مشيرة إلى أن انضمامهما يعكس التزام اللجنة "تسهيل المناقشات السياسية والعسكرية بهدف تحقيق الامن والاستقرار والسلام الدائم لجميع المجتمعات المتضررة من النزاع".
