مجلس الأمن يناقش نهاية تواجد البعثة الأممية في العراق

عقد مجلس الأمن الدولي، اليوم الثلاثاء، جلسة بشأن العراق استمع خلالها الأعضاء إلى إحاطة من رئيس البعثة الأممية في العراق المنتهية ولايتها، محمد الحسان.

وكان مجلس الأمن قرر سابقا إنهاء تواجد البعثة في العراق مع نهاية العام الحالي، حيث قال الحسان في هذا الصدد، إن مغادرة البعثة الأممية لا يعني نهاية للشراكة القوية بين العراق والأمم المتحدة، بل بداية لفصل جديد يتجذر في قيادة العراق لمستقبله.

وأعرب الحسان عن امتنانه العميق لحكومة العراق لاستضافتها بعثة اليونامي وشراكتها معها منذ 22 عاما، مضيفا أن الأمم المتحدة ستواصل الوقوف إلى جانب العراق للبناء على مكاسبه التي حققها بشق الأنفس، من خلال توفير الخبرة الفنية والمشورة والدعم البرامجي من قِبل فريق الأمم المتحدة القُطري في مسائل مختلفة.
