رأى الأمين العام لحزب الله نعيم قاسم الجمعة أن من "حق" حزبه الردّ على اسرائيل بعيد اغتيالها قائده العسكري هيثم الطباطبائي وأربعة من معاونيه، من دون أي تفاصيل أخرى.

وخلال حفل تأبين لقائده العسكري ورفاقه الذين قتلوا الأحد بضربات إسرائيلية على ضاحية بيروت الجنوبية، قال قاسم في كلمة عبر الشاشة "ليفهمها العدو الإسرائيلي ومن معه كما يريد أن يفهم.. الموقف الذي أعلنه في مواجهة استشهاد الشهيد السيد ابو علي.. وإخوانه، هذا اعتداء سافر وجريمة موصوفة. من حقنا الرد، وسنحدد التوقيت لذلك".
