حذّر نائب وزير الخارجية الروسي، سيرغي ريابكوف، اليوم الجمعة، من أن التوتر الأمني العالمي قد يشهد تدهوراً حاداً إذا لم تتجاوب الولايات المتحدة مع المقترحات الروسية الخاصة بمعاهدة "ستارت" الجديدة، مؤكداً أن تجاهل هذه المبادرات يفاقم حالة عدم اليقين في منظومة الأمن الدولي.

وأوضح ريابكوف خلال مؤتمر صحفي، أن موسكو ما تزال بانتظار رد واضح من واشنطن بشأن مقترح تمديد معاهدة الحد من الأسلحة النووية، مشيراً إلى أن روسيا ترى في استمرار العمل بالمعاهدة خطوة أساسية للحفاظ على التوازن الاستراتيجي ومنع أي سباق تسلّح جديد.
