ارتفع عدد الضحايا جراء الحريق الذي اندلع في مجمّع سكني في منطقة هونغ كونغ الإدارية الخاصة إلى 94 شخصًا.

وأعلنت إدارة خدمات الإطفاء في هونغ كونغ في مؤتمر صحفي اليوم الجمعة، أن عمليات مكافحة الحريق في مجمع "وانغ فوك كورت" السكني، الذي اندلع فيه حريق كبير منذ ظهر الأربعاء، شارفت على الانتهاء، وفق ما نقلت وكالة (شينخوا) الصينية.

ولا تزال إدارة خدمات الإطفاء تعمل على إخماد الحريق في أربع وحدات، وتسكب المياه على وحدات أخرى للحيلولة دون اشتعال النيران.

ووفقا للإدارة، سيدخل رجال الإطفاء جميع وحدات المباني السبعة المتضررة للبحث عن السكان المحاصرين، مضيفة أنه من المتوقع انتهاء عملية البحث صباح الجمعة.

وكان الحريق، الذي اندلع الأربعاء، قد التهم الأبراج السكنية في مجمّع "وانغ فوك كورت"، وكانت الحصيلة الأولية تشير إلى 83 ضحية.
