حقق فريق الحسين فوزا ثمينا بعدما حول تأخره بهدف إلى تفوق مستحق على الجزيرة بنتيجة 2–1، في اللقاء الذي جرى مساء اليوم الخميس على ملعب الأمير محمد في الزرقاء، ضمن منافسات الأسبوع الخامس من بطولة درع الاتحاد لكرة القدم.

وبادر الجزيرة بالتقدم مبكراً عبر لاعبه ياسين البخيت الذي سجل هدفاً في الدقيقة 8، ليُنهي فريقه الشوط الأول متقدماً بهدف دون رد.

ومع انطلاقة الشوط الثاني، دخل الحسين بصورة مغايرة وفرض أفضليته، ليتمكن عبدالله العطار من إدراك التعادل عند الدقيقة 47، قبل أن يضيف يوسف أبو جلبوش هدف الفوز في الدقيقة 75 بعد مجهود فردي مميز.

وبهذا الانتصار، رفع الحسين إربد رصيده إلى 11 نقطة منفرداً بالمركز الثاني، في حين بقي الجزيرة عند نقطتين دون تغيير في رصيده.
