وقعت الولايات المتحدة والمملكة العربية السعودية الثلاثاء اتفاقات في مجالَي الطاقة النووية لأغراض مدنية والدفاع، خلال زيارة ولي العهد الأمير محمد بن سلمان لواشنطن، بحسب بيان للبيت الأبيض.

وأعلنت الإدارة الأميركية أن البلدين صادقا على "إعلان مشترك" حول الطاقة النووية لأغراض مدنية "يُنشأ بموجبه الأساس القانوني للتعاون الذي تصل قيمته إلى مليارات الدولارات على مدى عقود" و"يجري بما يتوافق مع قواعد معاهدة عدم انتشار الأسلحة النووية".

وأضاف المصدر أن الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب "أعطى موافقته على اتفاق لبيع أسلحة يتضمن طائرات إف-35"، وهي طائرات مقاتلة أميركية ذات تكنولوجيا متقدمة.
