أعلن الجيش الإسرائيلي الأحد أنه لم يطلق النار "عمدا" على قوة الأمم المتحدة الموقتة في جنوب لبنان (يونيفيل)، إذ اعتقد أن الجنود الأمميين هم "مشتبه بهم".

وقال الجيش في بيان "في وقت سابق (الأحد)، تم تحديد اثنين من المشتبه بهم في منطقة الحمامص في جنوب لبنان. ثم أطلقت القوات طلقات تحذيرية... وبعد التحقق، تبيّن أن من اشتبه بهم هم جنود من الأمم المتحدة كانوا يقومون بدورية في المنطقة"، مضيفا أن الأمر "قيد التحقيق".
